- By Air - One can reach Leyte by taking a flight via Manila or Cebu. In Manila you need to transfer from the international airport terminal to the domestic airport terminal for a direct flight to Tacloban City, Leyte. From Tacloban, you can ride a bus or van that will travel to Naval, Biliran (approx. 2 hours).
- By Sea - If your flight is coming from Cebu City, you can take a taxi from the airport to the Pier to catch a ferry – You can pick between a fastcraft(approx. 3-4hours) or large passenger ship(overnight trip, usually departs at night) for Ormoc. As an alternative, you can also catch a ferry from Cebu port that can bring you Naval directly, this is usually an overnight boat ride.
- Going Around in Ormoc and Leyte - Buses and Jeepneys are available to take passengers to neighboring towns and provinces. Potpot is Leyte’s own version of the tricycle. It is the main mode of transportation in the province to take passengers to nearby destinations. A potpot can hold upto 6 passengers at the same time.

Binagol is made from talyan (a root crop) mixed with eggs, coconut milk, sugar, butter, nuts and chocolate. The product is put in a polished coconut shell called “bagol” and covered in banana leaves.

- Pastillas - Pastillas de Leche if directly translated from Spanish means “milk tablets” or “milk pills” which basically describes this Filipino sweet delicacy. This is made from evaporated milk with some mixtures to make it like a dough. The dough will be formed into small shape and be coated with sugar.
- Suman Latik – It’s a delicacy made of glutinous rice (malagkit), steamed then topped with syrup made from freshly extracted coconut milk and panutsa or cane sugar chunk.
- Sagmani - it is a delicacy popular in the Leyte and Samar region, that is made of grated gabe (taro), sugar, coconut milk and nuts wrapped in banana leaves. As an alternative, some use camote (sweet potato) or kamoteng kahoy (cassava) instead of gabe in making sagmani.
